I played recreational sports growing up including gymnastics, dance, softball, and cheerleading. I have done bodybuilding fitness competitions, taught group fitness classes (Zumba and step!), and coached CrossFit & CrossFit Kids. I love competing in any fitness related event and relish the opportunity to improve my skills with age.
My passion for fitness came in my 20’s when I decided to make some lifestyle changes after years of being a sedentary and unhealthy software engineer. I hired a personal trainer and started lifting weights for the first time: success in the gym turned into bodybuilding competitions (and trophies!) but eventually burnout from extreme workout and diet restrictions. Then I found CrossFit - a way to stay healthy and fit while focusing on performance, not just aesthetics.
Teaching is my passion - across many subjects. But teaching children how to safely and effectively move their bodies while having fun and staying fit is about as rewarding as it gets.
